We use passive solar designs to maximize heat gain during the winter, and because adobe is a good insulator, our houses are cool in the summer when properly ventilated, and warm in the winter when properly heated.

Some of our clients have requested water "catchment" set-ups, and "off the grid" electric systems, which work well with our homes.
